How LanguagePeps began
Some ideas are born at a desk. This one was born somewhere between a language course in Seville, an evening in Tokyo, and the hundredth time a colleague asked: Do you know a good school in…?
Thomas Roth, founder of LanguagePeps, knows that question from his own experience. With more than 33 years in aviation and travel — almost ten of them lived abroad — he understood one thing clearly: for travel professionals and airline staff, learning a language is not a hobby. It is a professional necessity. And anyone who has truly lived in another country knows exactly how far a language will carry you — and how badly the industry needed a portal that takes this audience seriously.
In 2013 he founded LanguagePeps — a language travel portal for employees of airlines, tourism, hospitality and rail. With PEP prices and no agency fees, with schools he knows personally, and with the conviction that industry professionals should not pay more than they need to.
