Parent and Child Language Program — travel together, learn together
Working in aviation or travel comes with a great perk: PEP prices on flights and trips. LanguagePeps turns that into more than just an affordable holiday — it’s a trip where parents and children learn a language at the same time, spend real time together, and come home with experiences that simply aren’t possible at home.
One or both parents attend a language course while the children learn alongside peers their own age in a dedicated junior language program. Evenings and weekends belong to the whole family.
Educational Leave — an extra worth checking
Depending on your German federal state and employer, you may be able to have your language course recognised as Bildungsurlaub — Germany’s statutory educational leave. That means paid time off for your course days without touching your annual leave. LanguagePeps and Linguista support you with all the documents you need. Whether this applies to you depends on where you live and who you work for — but it’s always worth checking.
In many cases, the language trip can also be claimed as a work-related expense for tax purposes.
How it works
Choose your course and program
You book your language course, and your child is enrolled in the right junior language program at the same time. Everything goes through Linguista — one contact, one booking.
Apply for educational leave (optional)
If you live in a German federal state with an educational leave law, you can submit your application to your employer at least six weeks before departure. LanguagePeps provides all the documents you need.
Travel together
During the day, parents and children each have their own course. Mornings and evenings are family time. Whether you use educational leave or not — you travel on PEP rates, and so does your family.

Extend your stay freely
You can extend flights and accommodation before or after the course with personal holiday time.

Tax-deductible in many cases
The trip is often deductible as a work-related expense, where a professional connection can be demonstrated.

What families say
“As a single mother, a language course abroad on my own would never have worked. With LanguagePeps it just did — we both had a great time and learned so much. Noah picked up new words incredibly fast and was singing English nursery rhymes all the way home. This was definitely not our last trip with you.”
Frequently asked questions
From what age can children join?
Children can participate from age 6. At this age they are introduced to the new language through play — in small groups with peers, led by experienced teachers.
Can both parents attend a language course at the same time?
Yes. Both parents take part in the same language course together, while the children learn in their own junior program running in parallel.
Are parents and children in the same school?
It depends on the destination and partner school. In many cases the adult course and the junior program take place in the same building. At some schools, children are taught in separate, child-friendly premises — often school buildings that are vacant during the holidays and used by the language school. In these cases, arrangements are in place to ensure children can be dropped off or that an organised transfer is available. Your Linguista contact will let you know exactly what applies at your chosen destination.
Does my child take the same course as me?
No. Parents and children attend separate, age-appropriate programs — at the same school or the same location.
Do my partner and children travel on PEP rates?
Yes. Partners and children of eligible travellers receive the same PEP rates as you.
Can we extend our stay with a holiday?
Yes. You can extend flights and accommodation as you like. Only the official course days count as educational leave.
Can I claim the language trip on my taxes?
In many cases yes — as a work-related expense if a professional connection can be demonstrated. Individual tax advice is recommended.
What happens if educational leave is rejected?
Free cancellation or rebooking to another date — no financial risk.
